Brad Pitt Says 12 Years A Slave Made Him Grasp The Horror Of Slavery!

brad pitt smile(2)

You know a film is going to be good if Brad Pitt himself says that it's a prime example of why he got into the movie making business!

In an interview on the Today show, Brad talked with Ann Curry about what the making of 12 Years a Slave taught him, and what kind of lasting impact he thinks the film will leave:

"It wasn't until I saw the story that I fully fully grasped the utter horror of losing your freedom or denying another one their freedom, taking their freedom, splitting their family apart. It's abhorrent…I know what this film is. I've been around film long enough. I know the impact, and this one will have a continuing impact."

Whoa, sounds unbelievably powerful!

We reported earlier how Brad mentioned that this movie is why he got into film in the first place, and we sincerely hope this film comes in first place in Oscar nominations as well!

Brad also talked about how he'd let his oldest child Maddox watch the film, due to its cultural importance, and we could not agree more.

This film looks like it's going to tell an inspiring story about redemption and freedom, as well as an important history lesson about our nation's not so glamorous past!

We cannot wait for this film to make its impact on the big screen, and we could not be more excited to see it based on how excited Brad is!

Ch-ch-check out the interview…AFTER THE JUMP!!!
